Bowl turning with epoxy filled voids
Gene’s recent posting reminded of me a bowl a late friend gave me years ago. When I first saw it, I immediately thought how dangerous it must have been to shape with its sharp edge(s) whirling around and around. And then I wondered why he applied colored epoxies to fill the voids given that the bowl was still in one piece. When I asked him about the colors, Mike said he liked the contrast they created with the wood. Although I thought seeing the voids would be great, I didn’t question his choice, just thanked him for the piece and have displayed it ever since. I thought members might enjoy seeing it.
