Fellow Guild Members,
Guild Web Site Login News:
I have found some technology that you may like that eases the need to remember your Guild Web Site password. You must have an account to start with, and you must have a working email address that is the same one we use on our web site.
Here’s how it works:
- You have an active web site account and we have your current email address.
- You visit a special page on our system, visible to the public.
- You enter your email address that we have on file. Enter the wrong one or one you don’t have access to, and it will not work.
- You will get an email with a special token in a web address back to our web site.
- It is good for one use only and expires after ten minutes.
- It will connect you to the web site without you having to enter your password.
Interested? Please click here to let me know. Or send me an email indicating your interest to hcwg@hcwg.org.
New Web Site Members:
Many of you have responded to the invitation to add to your Guild experience by getting a Web Site Account. This makes it possible for the Guild to save on communication costs, set up longer term communication addresses via the web site in lieu of personal emails, and much more. Thank you for joining!
A prospective member notified me of a problem with the web site’s member registration for for a Windows 8 Firefox & IE browser where the address fields didn’t work for him.
We added a printable form of our new member application to the Registration Form page. This page is open to the public. Please visit it so that you are familiar with its content and can refer prospective new members to it. While you’re there, if you don’t yet have a web site account, select Option 1, fill in the form and submit it. I’ll do the rest.
Upcoming Events:
The next Guild Monthly Meeting is at Bain Center on 6 December from 9AM to 12PM. The demonstration is from Jim Frank presenting “Bow Maker”.
The Woodworking Show of Baltimore is scheduled for 2-4 January. There are still slots available for member volunteers to help promote woodworking and bring new members to the Guild. Please consider volunteering. You can volunteer by visiting the Guild’s Woodworking Show Of Baltimore homepage. You can also look through upcoming events on the web site via the top menu. Look under “Events”, and check the drop down list for categories. You can also submit new events online as well. Please look for the big PLUS sign at the top of the page. Hover your mouse over it to see a list of things you can do. Click Event to create a new entry. We curate all such entries and will happily check out your suggestion, add details, and publish it.
Project Photo Albums:
If you attended to the Guild November meeting you know that Richard presented his 2014 project and we archived his handiwork in the first Guild Project Photo Album. Click the link to visit the album cover page and select from among the viewing options.
This feature of the web site is not public facing, so you will need to get an account.
Things Offered for Sale:
I have a few ads to share with you today. You can easily surf through our Marketplace items. Look for the Marketplace menu item at the top of the page. Hover your mouse over the title and see a drop down list with two items, Offered and Wanted. Click Offered for a view of that category. Visit How to Post to Marketplace for instruction to submit your own ad.
For Sale: Cherry Lumber and Legacy Ornamental mill woodworking machine, posted this past week by a non-member. Good pictures of the milling machine, and the cherry lumber.
There are several other items offered for sale listed on the site. Click HERE.
If you would like to share in the Guild communication process, please feel free to let me know however you wish. Thank you again for visiting the site or reading our email.
