Tech Note: Are you using Zoom to video call or screen share with family or friends?
Guild members,
After being locked up in the house as a result of the governor’s order to help mitigate the corona virus, like many worldwide, you may be using Zoom.us solution to meet up by video conference or screen share with family or friends.
[box]Webmaster’s Note: Guild members may arrange for 1:1 support in their use of the website using Zoom in addition to email and telephone. Please use to request that support without having to log in. [/box]
Zoom software is available to run on nearly every platform, or smart mobile device. It is easy to install and set up and there is a free level.
Security of your meeting is a concern. Having your settings properly configured is important to prevent unwanted bad actors from zoom-bombing your call or other malicious activity.
Our website security software company has written guidance in plain language to assist Zoom users to check and correct their settings.
[box]We’ve written the guide to be easy to use, even by non-technical friends and family, because we wanted something we could share with our own families. You can find the guide to improving security when using Zoom on the Wordfence blog.
Regards,
