Our membership is comprised of many wonderful people, who not only share a common interest in woodworking, but often are extraordinary contributors to society through mentorship, volunteerism, leadership, and service to others in many descriptions.

Broken Chisel Award: a member who has dedicated time and energy to the Guild workshop such as maintaining equipment, orchestrating minders, and ensuring safety while providing a space where members can work and thrive.
Hero Award: for a member whose selfless actions have provided outstanding service to the community bringing honor to themselves and the Guild.
Member of the Year: a member of the Guild for more than 3 years who has demonstrated outstanding service, dedication, and contributions to the Guild.
New Member of the Year: a member of the Guild for 3 years or less who has demonstrated outstanding service, attendance, and participation in Guild activities.

2024 | Ron Fico, Joel LaFerriere, and Mark Fradkin | Ron Fico volunteered as the lead shop equipment repair lead. He is frequently joined by Mark Fradkin and Joel Laferriere in the performance of repair tasks. Together, these three senior members have spent dozens of hours keeping the shop equipment working well. They have saved the guild thousands of dollars in contractor labor and reduced equipment down time. |
2023 | Tom Allen, Alan Berlin, Manny Flecker, Diane Frankenfield, Paul Mermelstein, BJ Noppinger, Norm Williams, and Frank Canastar | This is something different this year. We want to give recognition to this group of shop monitors, without which our shop would not be possible. |

2024 | Marti Simpson | Marti volunteered to relieve Rich Ellery as Beads of Courage coordinator. In the immediately following five months, on November 20th, with the assistance of eleven other Guild members, Marti was able to deliver 19 handcrafted Beads of Courage (BoC) boxes to the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital in Baltimore. She is organized and dedicated. |
