Finished Bench for HoCo Conservancy’s New Lobby
Circa February 2017
The Howard County Conservancy at Mt. Pleasant has been under a nature center expansion for the last few months. Things are progressing well and we hope to have everything complete by mid-May.
We were looking for someone to build a bench for the lobby of the new nature center. We were looking for something simple and rustic/natural. I’m not sure if the guild received any of the elm that was taken down at Belmont, but were wondering if somehow it could be incorporated into the bench.

The new bench is done!
It is made of Belmont Elm and Sykesville walnut. It is Howard County’s own wood and craftsmen. There was a total of nine man days of labor.
Howard Count Woodworkers Guild members who participated are George Adams, Matt Radtke, Carl Hudson and me, Gene Torrey.
George will deliver it to the HoCo Conservancy’s new lobby the week after our Guild Meeting, Saturday, 6 May.
Here are two pictures to wet your appetite.
