Help Wanted: Build Trail Bench – Robinson Nature Center
I am looking for a woodworker to build another trail bench to be installed at Robinson Nature Center this May as a memorial bench. Our staff member who originally designed and built the five trail benches currently installed is retired.
Robinson would purchase the necessary lumber and hardware for the project.
I took a few measurements, which should help with perspective. The length is 8 ft. The depth of the seat and height of the bench back are both about 17 inches. I am not sure how far the bench supports are sunk into the ground, but the seat sits approximately 1 ½ ft above the ground.
Non-members please use the form for referral to the ad owner, who will contact you at the number or email you provide in the form.
Two new benches were completed and delivered to the nature center last night. Thank you Jack, good score (with assists from Colby, Patrick, and Sugar).
Hey Greg, you want an second pair of hands?
Jack,
More the merrier. I went ahead and contacted Marisa. we can talk at the meeting this weekend.
Is there any reason I should not use pressure treated pine for this application?
I am interested in this project. wondering if there is special expertise in making the strong joint required for the 4×4 junctions.
