Welcome to the
Howard County Woodworkers Guild (HCWG)
The Guild is a collegial organization of like-minded and creative individuals, dedicated to sharing in the woodworking craft, nurturing newcomers, and giving back to our community.
Whether your interest is in turning, flatwork, carving, finishing, lumber, trees or camaraderie, or all the above, or you’re not sure; our Guild is for you. Come to a meeting or two and get acquainted.
Guild members are invited to an member-exclusive wood sale conducted by George, Matt and Gene on November 16th, 2019, from 0930 to 1200 in the back parking lot at Bain Center, 5470 Ruth Keeton Way, Columbia, MD 21044 (Google Map Link).
Check or Cash only, no credit cards.
You can view pictures of a sampling of some of the walnut we are offering to members-only via website: http://www.tiberriverwoodworking.com/inventory.html.
We will bring walnut boards, many with one or two live edge, box elder, cherry, and poplar, in 5/4 and larger thickness.
Proceeds from the sale will help to cover the cost of the project item(s) we donate to Howard County, a portion to the guild general treasury, and to cover milling and handling costs
Wood will be sold to Guild Members in good standing on a per board foot basis:
|Specie||Per Bd Ft||Status|
|Walnut Bowl Blanks||8.00|
|Walnut Slabs||6.00||Out of Stock|
Members are invited to produce an item to be donated back to Howard County Recreation and Parks department.
We’ve tried the honor system before where we gifted wood to members with the expectation that the member would complete their project and return it to us to donate back to the county. Except for Matt, George, Carl and Ron Clements, no other member who accepted wood has in fact returned their donation.
For this reason, if you purchase enough wood for your donation project and return it to us, we will refund your wood purchase price in full.
