2020-06-29 Reminders and Free Wood
The Nomination Committee for President and Vice President was appointed by Rick Munzer, President. The By Laws require the Committee to begin communication to the membership by the July meeting. That communication is being developed now and should come out in the next week or so. If we are able, we plan to hold special virtual meetings for August and September to conduct ONLY the nomination and voting processes. Rick Munzer and Joel LaFerriere, Vice President, have both declined to run again.
Membership Renewals – please hold off sending your check until further notified by email and headline banner on the website. Earlier we published the Board’s Plan. Read it here or click the link shown on the website’s banner area (top of every page).
Monthly Meetings remains suspended until further notice, again by email and also the Headlines section, near the top of the website home page, and most other pages that show the Headlines. Even though Maryland has started to reopen, large indoor gatherings remain restricted and older individuals will be at heightened risk until a vaccine is administered. Further, until Bain Center reopens, the Guild does not have a place to meet.
Wood donated to the Guild members by HoCo Recreation and Parks has been a benefit enjoyed by many. However, the facilitation has at times been a challenge born by very few. Please read carefully each notice and when a lead facilitator is requested, consider volunteering. Otherwise we will have to decline the County’s offer. This done to often and there could be a reduction in their offers.
Having said that, there are oaks and a 12″ plum at the County Arts Center that will be removed and the wood is offered as a donation to Guild members. Are there any takers? A Lead Facilitator is also needed as I (Gene) am not available. Interested members please use the form to indicate your interest. In your response, signal which species you’re interested in and if you’ll take the Lead Facilitator role, with coaching of course.
