Broken Chisel Award: a member who has dedicated time and energy to the Guild workshop such as maintaining equipment, orchestrating minders, and ensuring safety while providing a space where members can work and thrive.
Hero
Hero Award: for a member whose selfless actions have provided outstanding service to the community bringing honor to themselves and the Guild.
Member
Member of the Year: a member of the Guild for more than 3 years who has demonstrated outstanding service, dedication, and contributions to the Guild.
New Member
New Member of the Year: a member of the Guild for 3 years or less who has demonstrated outstanding service, attendance, and participation in Guild activities.

2022 | Ron Lambert | As the recipient of the 2022 Broken Chisel Award for dedicating his time and energy to managing and organizing the Guild workshop. Ron has led the shop this year picking up, dusting it off, and making sure it is a smooth running machine. Well done. |
2021 | Ron Fico | This year’s awardee is Ron Fico for his work as Shop Coordinator. Although his tenure was short, during that time the Guild developed and codified a detailed shop policy and guide, reorganized the shop itself, and developed a maintenance schedule. It is my understanding that much of this was new territory for the shop and that its provided a firm foundation for shop operation for years to come. We hope this award serves as a small token of appreciation for his work. |

2022 | Matt Radke | As the recipient of the 2022 Hero Award for your outstanding service to the Guild and the local community. Matt stored all our repurpose committee tools and trappings and carted them around for us for the past couple of years. He is a dedicated servant for this guild and a halmark feature of the club. |
2021 | Ron clements | This year’s awardee is Ron Clements for his work with Toys for Tots. He’s been helping organize and build for to Toys for Tots for at least 10 years now. Just this past month he has helped organize getting materials to Guild members for toy builds. In addition to Beads for Courage, Toys for Tots is one of the most important ways our Guild give back to the community. This award is one small way of thanking Ron for his role in this contribution to that effort. |

2022 | Joel LaFerriere | As the recipient of the 2022 Member of the Year Award for your years of service and many contributions to the Guild. Joel has done more for the guild over the years than any other person I can think of. He has been involved in arranging presentations, giving demonstrations, supporting the shop, getting door prizes for meetings, and supporting every activity the guild participates in. This recognition is long overdue. |
2021 | Eugene (Gene) Torrey | This year’s awardee is Gene Torrey for being, well, a Swiss Army Knife to the Guild. He wears a number of hats for the Guild – formally and informally. Gene is the Webmaster as well as Financial Services Backup to Manny. He was instrumental in setting up membership renewal and electronic payments through our website. He was instrumental in finding a new vendor for Guild swag and making sure we all could easily shop for and order from our own website. We want to thank Gene for all his work and hope he keeps doing it because he may have made himself indispensable. |

2022 | Kathy Paez | As the recipient of the 2022 New Member of the Year Award for your service to, and participation in, the Guild. Kathy is a very new member, yet she has already been working hard. She is chair of the Presentation Committee which is quite a lot of work. She also took on the task of conducting a member survey and presenting the results at our October meeting. I cannot think of any other new member that has hit the ground running the way she has. |
2021 | Alicia Sweat | This year’s awardee is Alicia Sweat. This has been Alicia’s first year with the Guild. She is a talented pyrographer. More germane to this presentation, she has proved a valuable member of the Recognition Committee. It is rare for new members to volunteer for committee work, but Alicia dove in and contributed. We now expect even greater things from Alicia in the years to come. |
The Recognition Committee chaired by Jack W. Spencer, was proposed by Greg Knoll in the fall of 2020 and authorized by the Board of Directors in the winter of 2021. Calendar Year 2021 will see the Committee’s first award winners announced in the late fall of 2021. Other committee members are Alecia Sweat and Greg Knoll (Guild Secretary).
