This is a rare opportunity to attend a class given by one of the premier woodworkers in the US. He is a longtime contributor to Fine Woodworking and a much in demand presenter and teacher. His works reflect a flair and play on traditional woodworking with a modern twist. The discussion will be varied so that it will be useful to a wide range of interests and skills.

We will start in the morning by discussing design, what makes for a good design. Why are some pieces of furniture so appealing, elegant, and well made? Design is a factor, but so are the many choices made by the maker; such as which techniques, joints, woods, and details.

We will explore the building process, looking at design, hand tools, strong joinery, wonderful details, and how to work efficiently and accurately — practical stuff and very useful. And finish with DETAILS — chamfers, edges, a bit of inlay, beads, etc.
