This is a request for presentation committee members, one of whom would become the chair.
Please consider serving on the committee. It is a very important part of the Guilds purpose: to share information, and foster interest in membership.
Joel LaFerriere noted during the December meeting that he has been coordinating the presentations at the monthly guild meetings for many years. Joel wants to focus on his role as Education Programs Chairperson, and is therefore stepping down as Presentations Chair effective March 5, 2022 after the meeting.
The new committee will be responsible for presentations starting at the April 2022 meeting, preceded by mentoring from Joel and handover of key contacts. We have a three presentation formats that rotate on a monthly basis:
- What’s On My Bench,
- Enhanced Show And Tell, and
- Premium presentations.
The Guild’s Board of Directors are looking for several people to form the Presentations Committee. The role of the committee will be to plan and coordinate the presentations at the monthly meeting. This would include developing and maintaining a list of professional and hobby woodworkers, arranging and supporting their presentations, authorizing compensation by the Treasurer, and participating in periodic board meetings. Initially in the first year, the Chair position will not be a voting board member. After one year of participation in the role and with successful operations, the Chair position will be elevated to a board voting position.
The Board and Webmaster are here to assist in the ongoing operation of the Presentations Committee. Some of the facilities you can rely on are:
