Security Alert: Your Home Router Security Notice
As a service to Guild Members, I am providing you with a notice we received from our web site security software company, Wordfence, related to a security threat posed by your home Internet Service Provider’s router – from Comcast, Verizon, or whomever you obtain your Internet connection router equipment.
There is a concern about a known vulnerability if remote maintenance through the ISP facing router port is enabled.
This is a legitimate threat. YOU can easily check your home router.
You will need to click twice.
- Click HERE to visit the Wordfence Security Site’s page where the test of your router takes place.
https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2017/04/check-your-router/?utm_source=list&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=041217 - A SECOND click on their site to run their software to check your router. Scan down the page looking for the button pictured ===>
Below the button are instructions telling you what to do if your router is found to be vulnerable.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me by email, or comments below.
