Howard County Woodworkers Guild (HCWG)
The Guild is a collegial organization of like-minded and creative individuals, dedicated to sharing in the art of fine woodworking craft, nurturing newcomers, and giving back to our community.
Whether your interest is in turning, fine woodworking, carving, finishing, lumber, trees, or camaraderie, all of the above, or you’re not sure; our Guild is for you. Come to a meeting or two and get acquainted.
Our Guild does not buy or make anything for retail sale. We do not buy and sell used woodworking related items. We do provide a marketplace where buyers and sellers, or those seeking help, may post an ad for that purpose.
We offer with limited capacity educational opportunities provided by dedicated and skilled senior craftsmen and women (SME program & Classes). Our monthly meeting is highlighted by impressive show-n-tell reviews of finished projects, and a 60-90 minute skill presentation (Monthly Presentations Schedule).
For Sale: GMG 10-10-10 Wood Sale, Saturday, Oct 10 at 10
For five years we’ve had a great relationship with a Howard County resident for the storage of our wood. This has helped us to pass along steep savings to you. Alas, our friend is selling his farm and we must move out.
George, Matt and Gene will be conducting a 10-10-10 lumber wood sale at Matt Radtke’s home in Ellicott City.
On October 10th starting at 10am, we will sell all our wood (walnut boards and slabs, cedar, and box elder) at the best price, till it’s all gone. Our loss is your gain.
Please bring cash or personal check, PayPal, and Apple Pay are all okay; no credit cards accepted.
Matt’s address, 9900 Timberknoll Ln, Ellicott City, MD 21042. Directions are reliably provided by Google map: https://goo.gl/maps/RLTpjxayb4vpm2de6.
This is all outside. Wear a CDC COVID face covering.
Matt’s house is on a flag lot driveway with the residence sited behind houses abutting the cul-d-sac curb. You’ll drive uphill to the end of Timberknoll Lane (a cul-d-sac) to the end, then look for blaze orange survey tape marking the driveway entrance.
You can preview a sampling of some of the walnut we are offering to members-only via George’s Tiber River Woodworking website at http://www.tiberriverwoodworking.com/inventory.html.
