Howard County Woodworkers Guild (HCWG)
The Guild is a collegial organization of like-minded and creative individuals, dedicated to sharing in the woodworking craft, nurturing newcomers, and giving back to our community.
Whether your interest is in turning, fine woodworking, carving, finishing, lumber, trees or camaraderie, or all the above, or you’re not sure; our Guild is for you. Come to a meeting or two and get acquainted.
Ron Lambert Appointed as Workshop Coordinator
Effective June 11th, 2021, Ron Lambert was appointed by the Board of Directors as the Guild’s Workshop Coordinator.
At the same time, Frank Canastar and Norm Williams were appointed as Assistant Workshop Coordinators.
The Workshop Coordinator is a board level voting position. The Assistant Coordinators will attend board meetings but not have a vote, unless the Coordinator is absent. Then the designated acting coordinator will have one vote.
The appointment is an important first step toward workshop reopening. After coordinating with Bain Senior Center management today, we believe it is reasonable to expect the workshop to celebrate its grand reopening in July.
Before this can happen the workshop needs to be cleaned.
Further, in addition to the active monitors from 2019 & 1Q2020, we want to invite any member to consider volunteering as workshop monitor. New monitors will receive training in equipment operation and maintenance, and receive one fiscal year of membership dues waived.
Please use form to volunteer for either cleanup volunteer or monitor. Be sure to state either one, or both in your message to us.
