Tom Blinka, a highly accomplished carver, and member of the Woodpeckers Guild, has graciously offered to teach an introductory course in carving to Howard County Woodworkers Guild members.

This exciting opportunity consists of 5 three hour sessions that will introduce the fundamentals of carving. Topics will include: layout, setting in shapes, outlining, and contouring. The first session will focus on sharpening the basic carving tool profiles.  

The course fee is $50 which includes basswood for you to practice the new skills you will be learning. Students will be given a list of chisels and sharpening supplies that they will need to purchase for this course. 

Course time and dates: Mondays 4-7 PM;  April 14, 21, 28, May 5, 12.
