This past week the Guild finally filled the long sought volunteer for the vacant Shop Coordinator position. Ron Fico has volunteered to perform the duties of the board level position. He also was able to enlist the assistance of Stu Fitzgibbon as Assistant Shop Coordinator. Ron is already at work reviewing the Shop Policy and drafting additional role guidelines for Coordinator and Monitors. The Board will meet after the regular meeting Saturday, 13 October at 12PM to address pending executive matters and to welcome Ron to the board.

The October 2018 monthly meeting will occur as usual at Bain Center on the 13th, SECOND Saturday. The demonstration is by Cate Sullivan – Wood Finishing. Notes from Cate before the meeting: Here is what I will NOT address: lacquer, HVLP systems, wiping varnish/oil, color theory. Here is what I hope to address: project steps, finishes (shellac, oil-based, water-based), sanding tips, and finishing the finish. Questions and Answers during and at the end of the demo are welcome.

The Election Committee Chairmen, Andy Wheeler and David Knipfer, and the nomination committee are pleased to inform the Guild Membership that the President and Vice President elections will be held by ballot at the next monthly meeting on Saturday, 8 September. Full details are provided below. Rick and the Nomination Committee Chairs will provide additional details at the meeting including any last minute changes. 2018-09 September Monthly Meeting on the 8th
