Help With Webmail Password
Webmail is a classic tool provided by many web host platforms. Linux/Unix based servers often use a product called CPANEL. Cpanel offers email account support through a handy web based facility called “webmail”.
The Guild provides role-named email accounts to its various officers, coordinators, and facilitators. Members in these roles may choose full email accounts and use webmail or their own email software. Guild webmasters provide support to your email software on a best effort basis. Support for webmail is full service.
To access webmail, you must have a previously assigned email address and password in the HCWG.ORG domain. The Webmaster will provide these to you on your request. When turnover in a given role, due to elections, resignation, or appointment, the new member in the role should request the Webmaster provide them with their role-based email credentials.
Here are the several password update options:
- First Use Password – The webmaster provides you with your preassigned password for the first time.
- Self-Service Webmail Password Update – You know your webmail email address and password, and want to self-service update it. See steps below.
- Webmaster Password Reset – You have forgotten the assigned password and need the Webmaster to reset it and give it to you.
- Self-Service Password Reset – This is the option if you have forgotten your password and wish to reset it yourself. Unfortunately, at this time the web hosting company does not support self-service password reset for Cpanel Webmail.
