Help Wanted: Paid Library Card Catalog Restoration
I am looking to have a standard library catalog refinished (sanded, stained and treated so that it will last forever) I thought that I would contact your organization to see if you could refer me to a quality woodworker. I am willing to pay a fair price to have this done and am not in a rush or hurry. I would absolutely love to find someone that would enjoy doing this work. I don’t know if there is anyone in your guild that takes on this type of work, or if you know of a quality shop.
I am not sure what to offer, but am willing to pay a fair price and entertain any quotes. I have attached several pictures.
It is 3′ wide, 23″ high (w/o feet/base), 47″ high with base, 17″ deep.
This is a much-loved piece that I’ve owned for almost 20 years, and it was a salvage from a library in New England – it was *never* pristine. I’m not looking to have it turned into something flawless and new, I’m just interested in preserving the wood, slowing it’s demise, and giving it some more dignity! I am not in a rush – this is a labor of love.
Also, the pieces all come apart – picture, 5 horizontal slices sitting one atop the other. I
Imagine that this might make it slightly easier to work with.
