Help Wanted: Electric Motor Repair

Gene,

I was hoping that you might be able to provide me with some direction. The motor of an eight inch Bridgewood jointer has stopped working, do you know of anybody or place that repairs motors. The jointer was manufactured in 1988 and looked on line but didn’t see any replacement parts provider.

  1. David Hickson just emailed to inform me that the Bohle Electric Motor company appears to have closed operation.  No one is at the building and the phone is out of service.

    As a matter of fact I just had occasion to patronize a local electric motor repair shop in Severn Maryland for my Powermatic Lathe.
    Turned out the motor was fine.  The shop was just like I would have imagined from my younger days, like 60’s 70’s, you know, where they actually take them apart and fix them, instead of ordering s new one.
    Here is the info.  Please be sure to let me know how it turns out.
    Use the Google Map link to guide you back into the shop.  It looks like an old farm that had a housing development go in in front.  But following the navigation took me right to it.
