Free Wood: Pagoda and Dogwood Turning Pieces
Norm Williams and I (Gene T.) cut up some Pagoda wood and dogwood for turning. Pieces are sized to fit either a 12″ or 20″ lathe (workpiece diameter).
You can get some at the Guild Workshop at Bain Center. First come, first serve. Masks are required to enter any Howard County building, including Bain Center.
Pagoda wood is in the legume family, with another familiar tree, Indian Rosewood, also with a lovely grain pattern. See images below.
The workshop is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 1230pm.
See the Workshop Monitor who will show you what is left.
Gene also has some dogwood limbs too small for turning, but might be nice for carving. Use for info and pictures.
