Free Wood: Large White Oak Logs – Cut to Take — 3 Comments

  1. Hey Paul and Mike, great looking slabs!  Definitely treat the ends with Anchorseal2 to prevent cracking.

You might also want to see Arnold (Timberline Farms Sawmill) to surface the slabs, and cut two bookmatch slabs on the long axis to make a 360° live edge tabl.

  2. I’m in the process of building up a chainsaw mill that will be capable of milling these logs, for me or others, but I don’t know when I’ll have it finished. Interestingly, I just picked up the chainsaw yesterday, after having ordered it last September. I would like to stay tuned to any other efforts and will try to expedite my efforts.
