On December 6th, the FIRST Saturday, our monthly meeting was held in person at Bain Center (info link) and virtual using Zoom technology.
The demonstration for the meeting was “Woodworking Without Pain: Managing Repetitive Stress and Motion Injuries. Candy Diamond, MS,OTR/L, CHT.”
What a treat we have in store for December!Cindy Diamond, an occupational therapist and certified hand therapist, will share practical strategies to help you prevent and manage the common aches and pains that often come with woodworking.
Cindy will cover how to optimize yourworkstation to better fit your body and reduce strain, how to use posture to your best advantage, and how to select and grip tools inways that protect your fingers, wrists, and forearms. She will also demonstrate stretches and exercises to strengthen key muscles and prepare your body for the physical demands of woodworking.
Come learn how to work smarter, reduce discomfort, and feel better in the shop.
