The Saturday, May 7th, monthly meeting was virtual using Zoom technology for our business meeting (not recorded) and YouTube live stream (recorded – see link below) for the presenter, Tom McLaughlin. Tom presented an excellent two hour session on mortise and tenon followed by a Q&A session.

- Tom McLaughlin (Joel)- 90 minutes on mortise and tenon and 30-minute Q&A
He will start with how to engineer a mortise and tenon joint, then do several examples showing how to get excellent results. You will be able to ask question and get answers via chat.
At the end of the 90 minute session he will open it up for a 30 minute ask any question about woodworking.
It should be fun and educational so please mark your calendars . You don’t want to miss this.
Bio
Tom has been making and designing commissioned custom furniture since 1990. After years of higher education in his twenties, he decided at 29 to pursue his love for fine furniture making full-time. His training launched forward when he entered a rare apprenticeship with master craftsman P.A. “Pug” Moore in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Tom remained close to Pug, even after branching out on his own, which included returning to his native New England roots where he’s been making furniture and teaching since 1997.

- Offering instruction since 1998
- Member and former Chairman of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters since 1998
- Published in Fine Woodworking Magazine a number of times.
- Featured in articles in numerous newspapers, magazines, and woodworking journals
